Plate for a Mate, Australia’s first Augmented Reality (AR) cookbook, is set to revolutionize the way we connect through food while supporting a critical cause—mental health in rural communities.

Bringing together some of Australia’s top chefs, food lovers, and changemakers, this unique cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes. It integrates cutting-edge AR technology, allowing readers to unlock exclusive video content from contributing chefs and personalities. More importantly, it aims to drive awareness and support for rural mental health, with proceeds going to the Black Dog Institute.

A Cookbook with a Purpose

In Australia, a farmer takes their own life every 10 days. Plate for a Mate transforms the simple act of sharing a meal into an opportunity to support those struggling with mental health challenges in farming communities.

Unlike traditional cookbooks, Plate for a Mate blends storytelling, technology, and purpose. Each recipe comes with a video message from the chef, sharing insights into the dish and the importance of staying connected through food.
